In Love With…Green Rose Clothes

Any frequent reader of this blog may have guessed that I’m a big fan of small businesses. As such, I’m always on the lookout for any of the following – fun, quirky, sustainable, charitable and stylish brands that, as always, have quality at heart.

One of my most recent discoveries has been Green Rose Clothes – a delightful family-run business based out of Europe (Lithuania to be precise) – and with delivery services available around the world, have ‘glocal’ (globally local) ambitions at its core.

Just Be Natural

Aside from Green Rose Clothes being a family-run business, what I really love about the brand is the fact that the clothes – which are tailored towards everyday family living – are created using natural fibers. Using environmentally sustainable techniques, materials include merino wool, bamboo, and hemp to create items that are simplistic and easily wearable for everyday living.

My Top Picks

We’ve been a bit jet-set over the last few weeks travelling from Dubai to England to Northern Ireland, and back to England again. As such, Zachy and I have spent a proportion of our time wearing Green Rose Clothes to see exactly how they fit with our busy lifestyle. Here are some of our favourite items…

Merino Wool Kids Shirt

Wool is generally known for being thick and heavy – perfect for cooler climates and outdoor living. The first thing I noticed about this shirt, however, was how incredibly light and thin it felt. Having just returned from the soaring summer heat of Dubai to the somewhat cooler climate of England with its daily summer showers, I was a little concerned that the shirt wasn’t going to keep Zachy warm enough.

The thing about merino wool, however, is that it is thermal and actually helps to regulate body temperature – something very beneficial for the UK and Europe anytime of the year. The fibres of merino wool are also incredibly light, and the top itself was very soft (and also very easy to iron = win). The only thing I would say is that Zachy seemed somewhat irritated the first time he wore it due to the itchy nature of wool; a wash or so down the line and the irritation has faded.

Knitted Pants For Children

Ah! I just adore these!

Seriously, just look how cute they look! Hand-knitted using 90% merino wool and 10% alpaca, they are very soft and great for keeping tots warm. And despite a slight discomfort with the itchiness again, Zachy loved them too and actually refused to take them off the morning after the night these particular shots were taken.

The only thing to mention, of course, if that the fabric – while durable – is quite delicate when it comes to washing. It is therefore advised that the pants be hand-washed with ecological washing powder at no more than 30 degrees heat to avoid any shrinkage situations (nightmare!)

Merino Wool Nightwear For Women

My turn, yay!

As mentioned, Green Rose Clothes cater for the whole family – from newborn babies, toddlers, kids, teens, and yes, men and women too. I fell in love with this blue nightie due to its sheer comfort and shapely design. Made from merino wool, the itchiness that seemed to bother Zachy didn’t faze me, and I’ve been delighted to hang around the house in the evening in something that is a) stylish, b) comfy, and c) warm.

To be honest, it is probably a little too warm to take back to Dubai, but for the UK’s climate it is perfect for wearing any time of the year (though, I might add socks when we’re back in winter!)

Merino Wool Pyjamas

OK, I will hold my hands up right here and say that I generally hate ordering clothes online. Accessories are fine, but with clothes I always seem to mess up when it comes to size, colour, flattering design, etc. When I first opened these pyjamas then, I have to admit that I was a little taken aback by the colour and wasn’t sure at all whether I liked them. Its funny though how items can quite often look completely different when actually on.

The style and shape seemed to perfectly morph to Zachy’s frame, and the colour really complements his complexion. As with the kids shirt, these pyjamas are made out of merino wool making them very thin and lightweight – something essential for busy toddlers that delight in running circles around their parents before bedtime.

Baby Bow Ties

Just, awwwwwwww!

Green Rose Clothes offers an adorable selection of bows and bow ties for little girls and boys.

Zachy looked so adorably handsome at my friend’s wedding. The suit itself was bough elsewhere, but the gorgeous little bow tie really just completed the whole outfit.
