Family Friendly Things To Do In The UAE This Weekend

With the weekend upon us (rejoice!) and the spring season about to begin, here’s my selection of some of the best family friendly events taking place across the UAE this weekend.

Eat The World DXB
Thursday Feb 25 – Saturday Feb 27
Between AED 25 – 35 depending on date / session. Kids under 12 years who are accompanied by an adult can enter for free.

Over the weekend a colourful collection of the UAE’s funkiest food trucks will join forces with 15 of London’s finest gourmet food trucks at Eat the World DXB at Burj Park. Food trucks will include UAE favourites; The Biryani Pot, Shebi, Melt, Hip Pop, Jones the Grocer, Taqado Mexican Kitchen, Desert Chill, Jakes, RAW Coffee and Yumtingz. Food options range from tacos and burgers to gourmet ice-cream and organic coffee. The event will also include live music and a kids zone with a series of fun and interactive workshops for busy hands. A perfectly yummy afternoon out!

Kids Dine Free – Dubai Food Festival
Saturday Feb 27
Free – various locations

On Saturday 27 February 2016, 50 of Dubai’s most popular restaurants will offer a free three-course menu for children when accompanied by a paying adult, as well as entertainment opportunities for the whole family. Restaurants include: BookMunch Café, California Pizza Kitchen, Chez Sushi, and many more. How amazing is that!

Global Village Street Food Celebration
Thursday Feb 25 – Saturday March 12
AED 15 for ages 4+ (free below age 3)

Global Village is the ultimate destination for international street food during Dubai Food Festival. With 20 restaurants, cafes and kiosks participating, guests are welcomed to sample authentic flavours from around the world. Ummmmm, I wonder if there will be Yorkshire puddings…?

Sharjah Aquarium Carnival
Thursday Feb 25 – Sunday Feb 29
5:30 pm-11pm
Free entry to the Carnival. Entry fees to Sharjah Aquarium, Al Khan Street, Sharjah.

Experience what it’s like to live under the waves with a carnival dedicated to all things fishy. The outdoor area around Sharjah Aquarium will become a virtual ocean with marine-inspired live performances, workshops, visual displays and interactive learning experiences for the whole family.
